In the minds of many Americans the commitment to Christ is measured in how strongly they fight against gay-marriages and abortions. Even thou Jesus never spoke about those issues. Those who measure up as the most Christian, sometimes have no agenda or at least vague about poverty. That seems strange in the light of the fact that poverty and the importance of fighting it is mentioned almost 2000 times in the Bible.

When it comes to the schoolsystem it is akward that those how speaks of them self as the real christians think that the most important task is to bring inteligent design into the schools, but do not see the problem that faces the system in the inner-city schools.

While 30.000 children die each day it is a shameful fact that christians spends their time arguing about gay-marriages and abortions.

The preaching of Jim Wallis in St. John Arena in Columbus sounded like those word above. When mr. Wallis had finished preaching and answered questions from the audience, the white mid-class audience drove home from the arena in their nice white Volvo XC70 Cross Country, and thought about how important it was to listen to something that matters. Some of them made a stop on their way home at Krogers, and bought some candy. At least I did.
