Þegar ég kom til Íslands í nótt biðu mín margvíslegar góðar fréttir. Þar má nefna að ég er uppáhalds-tengdabarnabarn Jennýjar Karlsdóttur. Ég, fyrir hönd Skógarmanna KFUM hef fengið fjármagn til að ljúka gerð fermingarfræðsluefnis um Hallgrím Pétursson og Guðrún systir hefur fengið styrk til áframhaldandi rannsókna á tónlistararfi Íslendinga.
Það er þó ekki það eina. Í gær fékk ég svohljóðandi bréf í pósti:
Dear Halldor,
I am pleased to announce that the Admissions Committee has granted you provisional admission to the Master of Arts in Lay Ministry degree program beginning Fall 2005. Congratulations! The conditions of provisional admission are:
· You must present an official and final transcript prior to enrollment indicating that you possess the degree Bachelor of Arts or its equivalent from an accredited college or university. You will not be permitted to register for courses until this documentation is provided. If you provided an official and final transcript as part your application, you do not need to provide a second copy.
· If you are an ELCA member intending to be a rostered leader of the Church, you must receive a positive entrance decision from your candidacy committee no later than December 1, 2005, but preferably by your enrollment date.
· If you are not a member of the ELCA you must provide a letter of ecclesiastical endorsement no later than December 1, 2005, but preferably by your enrollment date. Your bishop, pastor or church elder may provide this letter.
Stacy Rebraca, International Student Advisor, will issue an I-20 pending certification of sufficient funds for your education. In certain circumstances, it is necessary that all funds be on deposit at Trinity Lutheran Seminary before the I-20 will be issued. Please contact Ms. Rebraca by phone [blocked] or by e-mail [blocked] to determine if your financial certification has been authenticated.
To indicate that you accept our offer of admission, please sign and date the enclosed Deposit. Trinity Lutheran Seminary requires a $100 tuition deposit at the time an admitted student accepts the offer of admission. The deposit will be applied to the tuition bill in the first quarter of your enrollment and will appear as a credit on your account. If you cancel your enrollment, $50 will be refunded to you. Please return the signed and dated Deposit along with your check or money order for $100 in the enclosed postage paid envelope.

Nú er bara að vona að Ólafur, sóknarnefndin eða Biskup samþykki að ég fari á þetta nám.

Til hamingju! Það væri fróðlegt að heyra frá þér hvað felst í þessu prógrammi.
Já, það er gott á þér gengið og gengið er gott þegar þarf að snara fram 100 dölum í einum grænum!
Til hamingju skemmtilegar fréttir, er þetta fjarnám einhverskonar eða… Er það þá orðið meistarnám ofan á hagfræðilegt djákna nám eða hvað. Mér finnst samt eitthvað fyndið þetta fram og til baka útskýring með 100 dollarana. Af hverju er svona rosa mikilvægt að greiða 700 kall fyrir fram eignilega. Ætli þeir geri ráð fyrir ða þú tími ekki að hætta við hafandi greitt gjaldið???
ÚPPS, gleymdi einu núlli. hahaha
Þetta er ekki fjarnám í öðrum skilningi en þeim að ég þarf að fara fjarri Íslandi til að læra. Þ.e. ef Ohio er skilgreint fjarri landinu. Annars hyggst ég gera grein fyrir því um hvers kyns nám er að ræða í annarri færslu.
