The fact that not all Arabs are Muslims and not all Muslims are Arabs is obvious but very often forgotten. The website <a href=\"www.discoverislam.com\">www.discoverislam.com<\/a> offers some helpful information about the faith. In the context of the US, a fatwa from July 2005 is very important:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nIslam strictly condemns religious extremism and the use of violence against innocent lives.\u00a0There is no justification in Islam for extremism or terrorism. Targeting civilians\u2019 life and\u00a0property through suicide bombings or any other method of attack is haram \u2013 or forbidden &#8211;\u00a0and those who commit these barbaric acts are criminals, not \u201cmartyrs.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Qur\u2019an, Islam\u2019s revealed text, states: &#8220;Whoever kills a person [unjustly]\u2026it is as though\u00a0he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind.&#8221; (Qur\u2019an, 5:32)<br \/>\n<br \/>Prophet Muhammad said there is no excuse for committing unjust acts: &#8220;Do not be people\u00a0without minds of your own, saying that if others treat you well you will treat them well, and\u00a0that if they do wrong you will do wrong to them.
