Joy A. Schroeder has written a book about how sexual violence in the Bible has been interpreted by the church through the ages, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Dinahs-Lament-Biblical-Christian-Interpretation\/dp\/0800638433\">Dinah&#8217;s Lament: The Biblical Legacy of Sexual Violence in Christian Interpretation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Joy A. Schroeder wrote an article about sexual abuse in the middle ages in Lutheran Quarterly, 7 (1993): 171-190, called &#8220;Marguerite of Navarre Breaks Silence about Sixteenth Century Clergy Sexual Violence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The third text worth mentioning is by\u00a0Marguerite de Navarre, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Heptameron-Penguin-Classics-Marguerite-Navarre\/dp\/014044355X\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;s=books&amp;qid=1279586549&amp;sr=8-1\">The Heptameron<\/a>, but stories twenty-two and twenty-three in that book address a sexual abuse of clergy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sexual abuse by people in power has been reality in religious circles since the beginning of times.
