Part of my studies in Transformational Leadership at The Methodist Theological School in Ohio is writing prayers dealing with our life, happiness, success as well as frustrations. In April, having seen a bit to much of the other America, in New Orleans, Detroit and in a Food Pantry in mid-Ohio, this was my prayer.<\/p>\n

\nWhen I watch an abusive husband shout at his wife
\nin the waiting room at the food pantry.
\n
\n Lord, where are you, <\/strong><\/span>
\nWhen I tell the old woman which recently lost her job,
\nthat the application for food stamps we just compiled
\nwill most likely be rejected.<\/p>\n
\nwhere are you when I sit down with a young fella
\nwho lost his future, his house, his girlfriend in the
\naftermath of Hurricane Katrina.<\/p>\n
\nI know you have called me to be your hands,
\nyour mouth piece, your feet.<\/p>\n
\nare you sure you called the right person.
\nI have immigration papers to fill out,
\nIRS complications to solve.
\nI have a daughter who needs time with me,
\nI have a son that is calling me too.
\nI have a wife that deserves my time.<\/p>\n
\nwhere are you,
\nwhy are you calling me
\nto deal with your mess.<\/p>\n
\nto deal with mine.<\/p>\n
